Zero Line Pressure Conveyor Systems

Amber Automation zero line pressure (ZLP) conveyors are predominantly used for transporting more fragile products and provide smooth operation and product accumulation without the product touching. This is achieved by creating product “zones” along the length of the conveyor system.

Zone lengths can be 500mm, 625mm, 750mm and 1000mm and each zone has its own 24vdc brushless motorized roller assembly which parasitically drives a series of slave rollers via elastomeric urethane belts. The stop / start process of each driven roller is controlled by a photoelectric cell positioned within the zone, which sends either a “zone occupied” or “zone vacant” signal to the onboard ASI control system. As a zone becomes “vacant” the previous zone (or zones if occupied) power up feeding the product/s along the conveyor in a cascading / indexing manner ensuring that product is allowed to feed forward to the next available zone. This singulation feature allows product/s to be removed from the conveyor at any location on the conveyor but will still then allow full accumulation. Also, since the motors in the rollers only run when required this can provide a considerable annual saving on energy costs. Positive dynamic braking in each zone ensures accurate stopping and reduces the possibility of damage to fragile items during accumulation. A built in shock absorber in each motorized roller protects the gearbox from sudden stop, impact or acceleration in the line.

In the event that no loads are present or moving on the conveyor then all zones are stopped. The ZLP range of conveyors allows accumulation on roller bends, inclines and declines which provide additional accumulation capacity if required.

The ZLP conveyor equipment is safe for operators, quiet in operation and virtually maintenance free. Its modular design makes it quick and easy to assemble and install and the simplistic wiring and control requirements make it a cost effective conveyor for many applications.

The side frame construction is free of bolt heads or other protrusions and the fully enclosed side covers allows for services (electrical cables / airlines etc) to be incorporated into the framework to provide a more aesthetic finish.

With a variety of track width from 300mm to 1000mm and with the choice of 62.5mm, 83mm and 125mm roller pitch available, the Amber ZLP conveyor equipment can be configured to suit most light to medium weight unit handling requirements.

Amber Automation ZLP conveyor equipment is available with the full range of ancillary equipment such as tapered roller bends, transfers, lift-up gates etc. Manufactured in-house, the modular construction makes Amber ZLP conveyors versatile for future expansions or for future system modifications.
